Playing Catch-Up: Review Smorgasbord!

Hello all!

It’s officially been one year since I started this review blog. And while I like what I have done, I can’t say I’m as pleased with my post frequency as I could be. I can’t say it’s for lack of material, as I’ve seen more than enough movies and played more than enough games to have at least double my post count at the moment. But there’s always room to grow, no matter how good you are about content, so I can only strive to be more consistent as I continue along this rocky road*.

So, in the spirit of moving forward, I’d like to get a bunch of the film reviews I’ve had sitting off to the side for some time now out into the open. These reviews will be short and sweet, as I have either forgotten my more critical points since my viewings or I just couldn’t come up with enough to warrant full reviews for the films. So, with that in mind, let’s jump right in!

Top Picks for 2012 – Television

Alright, so moving right along, it’s time for my picks for the best TV shows of 2012. Same caveats apply as last time. These are my opinions, so your day won’t stop if I tell you that I don’t very much care for American Horror Story, and only shows I watched can be considered for the list. With all of that settled, let’s jump right in! Presenting, this time IN a particular order, my favorite television shows of 2012!

Top Picks for 2012 – Games

Yeah, yeah, I know it’s nearly February, but who says there’s a time limit on a “Best of”-list? Well, I think there’s something in journalism about certain posts needing to be timely, but other than that…ahem, anyway, who needs such guidelines? Not this writer. So, with that in mind, here are my top picks for the best games of 2012! Just as a reminder, I would like to point out that these are my opinions — not facts. So if you don’t agree, well congratulations! Instead of yelling at me for not giving Mario Party 9 the respect it deserves, go make your own list. Or, you know, just yell at me. I’m sure that I’ll change my mind. Also, as I do not have the power to assess a game the instant it hits the market, games were only eligible if I had actually played them. So that’s bad news for anyone who really liked Far Cry 3. Now with all of that legalese out of the way, let’s get this show on the road! In no particular order, save for the final pick, here are what I considered to be the best of 2012.
